What to put on your website

The few things every small business website needs, and what can wait.

The top of the page does the work

Most people decide in seconds. The top of your home page should say what you do, where, and how to get hold of you.

  • What you do, in plain words.
  • The area you cover.
  • A big button to call, message or book.

Then the basics

  • Your services, with a line on each.
  • Prices, or a starting price, if you can. It saves you calls that go nowhere.
  • Photos of your real work. Phone photos are fine if they're clear.
  • Who you are: a line about you and anyone who works with you.
  • Opening hours and how quickly you reply.
  • Accreditations and memberships, with their numbers, only if they're real and current.

What can wait

  • A blog, unless you'll keep it going.
  • Long pages about your history.
  • Anything you'd have to make up, like reviews you haven't had yet.

Check it on your phone

Most of your customers will see your website on a phone. Open it on yours and try to call yourself from it. If that's fiddly, fix it first.

We'll make you three. Which one's a Keepr?

Three website designs for your business, each with its own brand, in a private showroom. Then add the rest when you're ready.

Free. No card, no call.
